Description
This course is an upper-level writing seminar about data privacy law. The topics discussed in this class include the basic structure of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the evolution of privacy protection in the U.S., select provisions in the California Consumer Privacy Act, FTC regulations, differences in the protection of online users' personal information and data in various countries, cross-border data transfer, information fiduciary duty, and the future of privacy protection. There are no formal prerequisites for this course.
